The Outsiders Journey Podcast has hosted its first interview guests!
Brothers Oz and Orlando from Puerto Rico stopped by the OJ Man Cave to share their thoughts on the recent Hurricane Maria disaster unfolding in their homeland.
They also talked about their growing universe of art and music and how they plan to use both to benefit the people of Puerto Rico, not to mention their close friends and family.
That podcast episode will be released next week.
But the much cooler event was the one that took place in my head and heart to get this part of what I do to come to life.
I was a tiny bit chickenshit about reaching this particular milestone
I had some fears and trepidations about hosting an interview, even though I’ve been striving to do just that for months now.
I didn’t feel that I had the greatest interviewing chops, that my motives were clear to me thereby potentially tainting the interview, that my equipment and post production capabilities were up to snuff.
That I’d somehow simply sound like an asshole to you and maybe look like an asshole to my guests.
But all turned out fine.
Well, actually, some of my worries proved to be justifiable. Some things did go sideways.
But nothing so bad that it amounted to anything that concerned me.
But the relief I felt for having taken this leap…!
Like those in charge of leading the rest of us always say:
Just start. The rest will take care of itself.
(They were correct.)
Now I am even more stoked to go after my next guests!
And I did learn a lot from this first run that will help me improve the second.
Which is the point of this message and all I do: It’s a process. Just keep feeding it, listening to it, and improving it as you go.
But GO!
