Stand back! He’s gonna blow!
One of my earliest mentors once told me that there is a mathematical formula that clearly shows the closer you get to success, the exponentially higher the hurdles become that keep you from reaching it.
You either blow through or blow up. And I imagine most of us that come up to this moment have no idea how close we are or if we’ll even survive the violence of the thing.
Keeping it transparent: I’m about at that point
If we look back, childrens, on last week’s Road Notes, we see the story was similar but our hero was sort of excited about it all.
Cavalier, mayhaps.
I’m trying to hang on to that sensation.
All the details are the same as they were then, although one thing kind of sorted itself. But it did so in a less than rosy fashion.
The other things are all still in play.
Risks. Deadlines. Not so minor confusion. Technical issues so twisted and evil that they damn near make me want to change religions on the spot.
(insert Sam Kinison-like maniacal laughter) My fucking toilet even decided to partially clog!
Because…why not?
Talk about kicking a man when he’s down.
Sigh.
There is no way but forward
It always comes back to that for me.
I wish things were easier.
I wish the money was flowing in.
Or ALL it produces is shit.
One foot after the other is the only thing to safely bet on.
It gets very hard some days and I want to share it all as it happens. Because you guys are gonna flip when this thing pops, as I know it one day will!
And there was a little light at the end of this week’s tunnel:
I peeked at my Google Console and saw a healthy growth curve in traffic to the site.
The upward arcs are getting higher, with less troughs in between.
Promising! At least people are showing up! And more of them all the time!
Now I just have to improve whatever I must to keep them with me longer and taking action more.
I’m a machine most days but even I appreciate the boost once in awhile.
Now go take a listen to the latest podcast.
It was a VERY bright light in an otherwise dimly lit week!
