Oh my god, how I hate doing graphic design!
I mean, I HATE it!
I’ve been trying to design the podcast cover art for my newest podcast “After Bipolar” on a limited budget, and I’m getting whipped at every turn.
It’s why those of you on the mailing list are getting this on time but my posting it to the site was late.
I’ve been fighting with Canva, PicMonkey and Photoshop to name a few. And I’ve been pricing design services all over the place, looking for an acceptable deal in my price range. (Found squat.)
It’s a slog
It’s just not my thing. I usually can barely even see a clear representation of what I want a picture to look like, let alone create it in some software.
Yet I must.
It’s depressing to learn how much you’re forced to do when building a platform
Particularly with a limited budget, which is how most people start.
And I want to be up front with those of you who wish to share your message with the world.
I find too many gurus and such candy coat the living shit out of this process. You deserve better.
There’s going to be many long, dark nights of the soul coming your way
Get ready. Gird your loins. Grit your teeth (and gnash them some) and begin fighting your way through the learning curve to create your baby.
It’s the price we pay to have a Life Less Ordinary.
It’s also the price we must pay to help those who need us most.
It’s worth it. Honest. Just get ready to pay the toll, is all.
