“Eat your vegetables!” your mom probably said more than once when you were growing up. Or somebody did.
Once you’re past the age of 12, it’s not like the usefulness of this advice is news to anyone. But do we do it? Yeah. Rhetorical question.
Eating well, and in particular, upping the amount of plant-based foods in our diet, has always been a tough row to hoe.
But in these modern times of high stress, no time and “Comfort Food-o-Rama”, it’s even tougher yet.
Eating a partial or total vegetarian diet may or may not appeal to you. We’re not saying to what degree this type of eating is best for your needs either.
But you could probably use at least a slight increase in veggies consumed, so that your body gets all it needs in a day to run right. Right?
Reorganizational Healing makes this lifestyle switch a whole lot easier to achieve
The bottom line is, there are nutrients you need that you cannot get from meat and carbs alone. You have to get some plants into the system, somehow.
What we’ve found is that our members slowly gravitate toward this way of thinking, just as they do with the other healthier lifestyle changes mentioned in our other articles.
It is the result of a gradual buildup of thoughts and feelings and the increased ability to hear the wordless voice of your body when it’s trying to get you to make wiser choices about what you eat.
This ability to pick better foods just grows within you until you’re strong enough to act on it without hating life in the process.
There’s no struggle involved!
If you want a person to plant their feet in cement, set their jaw, and defiantly resist all you tell them, no matter how good your intentions, just tell them they “should” do something. We feel you really “should” eat more veggies but it’s not really a concern of ours either.
As you work with us at Family Network Chiropractic, the tools we give you through regular NSA practice are going to help your body communicate to your conscious mind.
When you’re ready, you’ll “hear” your body and you’ll be in alignment with its thinking. When it “tells” you to eat more veggies, you’ll do so because you WANT to. Not because anyone told you that you “should”.
You won’t even do it because you know better and have the willpower to do so.
It’s not that hard!
You’ll do so because you DESIRE to do so. It will have a logic to it – a logic that you subconsciously developed on your own and that you find (of course) that you agree with – and you’ll eat better when that time arrives. Effortlessly!
Isn’t that such a nicer way to have a healthier and better life? No fighting. No trying. No bad feelings.
It’s just going to make sense to you on an organic level to do so – and you’ll do it! Easy-peezy.
