The brotherhood and camaraderie of the Marine Corps was the number one thing I missed for the longest amount of time after I got out. I’m serious.
I missed my brothers and sisters for about a solid seventeen years before I could get the pain of separation to dim. Incredible huh?
And you know what I’ve tried my hardest to do since?
Duplicate it – with a caveat (Lemme explain)
It’s just foolish of me to try and replicate that exact experience, although I attempted it there for awhile in my twenties.
I realized I just wanted to belong again to a team of people that care that damn much for each other and are all on the same page. Not to mention the trust. I miss the trust.
But it’s not to be. Not like that. Nor should it be. Life gives you what you get and nothing lasts. Impermanence is the one unchanging factor to life. How funny is that?
The only thing that stays the same is the fact that nothing stays the same
But in many ways, becoming a Marine and being a Marine made the having and the happening of that camaraderie a foregone conclusion. It was easy. It was handed to us. And for the most part, we weren’t beholden to anything other than each other.
Now the challenge is to recreate a great team at a time in my life when I and all the other team members have more to think about than just ourselves. But it’s happening.
There are many people out there who are just as driven as I am to find quality team members and to pursue a vision together, even though most of us are already working our own independent visions. You’ll soon meet many of them on my site.
The inherent complexity of this situation is as sweet as cheesecake to my brain and heart. I relish it. Now I continually look for other players as I help all who come my way. Not everyone is going to be interested in doing anything with me beyond whatever initially drew us together. And that’s fine.
But some will see something they like. Something grander than the face value of what I present. They’ll read between the lines and they’ll see a way they can use that to both our advantages.
I plan on it and have devices in various stages of completion to cater to it. How cool would it be for you to do the same with whatever your dreams are? Part of what I offer is a look into my mind on how I am doing this and how you can too, even if it’s not with me.
Because no matter what, I just want to help you pull this off and we’ll stay connected on some level and probably help each other out in some way down the road.
I plan on that too. And I welcome the chance to show you how to do the same.
