I’ve written about responsibility from the point of accepting my newest mission and how it came from my newfound awareness of my reality.
But I didn’t discuss the more basic aspect of becoming responsible – accepting the fact that no one got you here but you.
And no one’s gonna get you where you want to be next but you.
“The buck stops here”
Harry Truman said that when faced with repairing the problems of our entire country, during his time in office. Now you should say it. All the time.
It should be your number one mantra for the rest of your life. All else springs forth from your acceptance this one simple truth. Nothing else will ever work or become the reality you wish without this first tenet becoming gospel to your heart and mind.
“If it’s to be, it’s up to me.” Another great quote saying the same thing.
Look. I don’t care how hard your life’s been or still may be. (I care but keep reading.) You’re not going to get “magicked” out of your jam or away from your past. You must take on the fight of fixing your mess or past yourself.
No one is going to care about your dream as much as you. This is your one time to be completely selfish and still be in the moral right. How are you going to do this? How are you going to both fix your problem(s) and simultaneously build your dream(s)?
Maybe you have no problems. OK then. The dream still awaits. The approach remains the same.
What are you gonna do about it? Because it is your responsibility to do something about it. No one else’.
But know this, as well. Once you accept the challenge, embrace it, own it, and begin to reshape or build it you will find that you are not as alone as when you made that first critical decision.
You begin alone
But that might only last a short time. Maybe more but not a whole lot. Because once you begin, the Universe will begin peppering your day with people and resources to make your dreams come true. Probably won’t be easy, and might take a lot longer than you’d like. But your help will arrive as long as you refuse to quit on yourself.
Claim this job as your own and watch a team form up in your life to help make it real. Your energy of leadership, responsibility, and maturity in facing your situation head-on will manifest the assistance you need to complete it.
